Ajeleah Mathurin - lead stylist

Ajeleah Jade Mathurin is a lead stylist and creative director based in Orlando, Florida. At Beechwood, she curates and styles looks for every project — from shopping and circulating wardrobe inventory to conducting model and team consultations, overseeing wardrobe changes, and contributing to co-creative direction that brings each shoot's vision fully to life.

A native New Yorker who made Florida home in 2011, Ajeleah has grown deeply connected to the region — its culture, its ecosystems, and its creative community. She counts Florida's natural springs among her most cherished recommendations, and advocates fiercely for the preservation of the state's wetlands and everglades.

Her personal fashion philosophy is simple: no rules, just alignment. Guided by intentionality and confidence, her wardrobe rotates fluidly between whimsical ethereal, alternative rockstar, and eclectic maximalist — with one constant threading through every look: a scarf. Versatile, expressive, and always unexpected, the scarf is her signature. For Ajeleah, fashion is not bound by gender or social construct. Inspired by stylist Wisdom Kaye's expansive view that clothes carry no gender, she believes the only limit in fashion is the one you impose on yourself.

Outside of her work at Beechwood, Ajeleah is a creator in every sense of the word — painter, writer, and dedicated pole dancer of eight years, a practice she describes as an artistic freedom unlike any other. She is also a devoted student of herbalism, carrying forward ancestral knowledge of plant medicine with the long-term vision of opening her own apothecary and sharing that wisdom with her community.

Her favorite Beechwood moment to date is the Orange World photoshoot — styling eight models, she notes, is no small feat — and she joined the magazine for the artistic freedom it offers and the space it creates for bold, sustainable, collaborative fashion. In her words, Beechwood has been a beacon of her creative expression.
