Barbara Paola - Business Development

Barbara Paola Castro is Beechwood Magazine's Development Manager, based in Orlando, Florida. Originally from Caracas, Venezuela, she has been building her creative life in the United States for five years — and the work she has put into that foundation shows. At Beechwood, she supports the creative development of photo shoots, events, and projects, anchoring the publication's brand values through public relations and marketing. What she is most proud of is the community that has grown around the work — the models who came through the Orange World shoot, the new faces discovered at casting calls, and the relationships that formed in the process.

Beyond Beechwood, Barbara runs her own creative studio in Orlando, where she builds brands from scratch, develops creative concepts, and works across graphic design and photography — all in service of a larger ambition: to become a recognized force in the fashion and entertainment industry, contributing to campaigns, music videos, advertising, and major public relations events. She is, in her own words, a multi-talented artist — one whose creative life began in childhood with music, singing and playing electric guitar, before expanding into abstract art, drawing, and the full breadth of visual expression she practices today.

Florida has been her home since arriving in the United States, and North Florida holds a particular place in her heart — its clear beaches and family-oriented atmosphere carry echoes of the Caribbean she grew up near. For those looking to explore beyond the obvious, she recommends Downtown Mount Dora, a historical and quietly beautiful destination she believes deserves far more attention.

Her creative inspirations reflect an appetite for boldness and collaboration. She deeply admires the world that Law Roach and Zendaya have built together — a multifaceted, risk-taking creative universe that continues to evolve and surprise, most recently on full display across the Dune red carpet. She also draws inspiration from stylists Sierra Rena and Valerie Morales, whose work she follows closely.

Barbara's personal style is experimental by nature — a shifting mix of dark, feminine, classy, and maximalist that moves with her mood. She has been exploring transformations lately, working with stockings, belts, chains, and layering to reimagine what she already owns. For her, getting dressed is another form of creation.

She is drawn to Beechwood because it creates space for diversity and distinct personalities to shine without asking anyone to shrink into a stereotype. Bring your most authentic self, she believes, and the right path will find you — and Beechwood genuinely embraces that. She joined to learn from everyone around her, share everything she is capable of, and help carry the vision forward. Her hope is simple: that Beechwood becomes a safe space for creatives.

Currently obsessed with Rusowsky and Joey Valence & Brae. Revisiting films from the 2000s and 2010s, drawn to the nostalgia, the color grading, and the fashion that defined that era of entertainment. The last book that truly moved her was The Artist's Way — a work she describes as empowering, and one that deepened her respect for art in all its forms.

Her one sentence: resilience is the most powerful thing human beings have.
